Clothes Dryer Repair and Cleaning

You can do two other things with a clothes dryer apart from drying clothes: cleaning and repairing the machine if it breaks down. A clothes dryer is a home appliance, and like your typical home appliance, it needs regular cleaning and maintenance if you want it to do a good job. Clothes dryers are sturdy machines, but that’s not saying they don’t choke and break down sometimes, because they do. Put your helmet on because it’s time to do a little cleaning and repairing.

According to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), clothes dryers are responsible for around 15,500 fires annually.

It is obvious then that you should take good care of your clothes dryer. Continuous use of this appliance allows lint to build up in the machine and along the walls of the hose, where the water drains out. Not cleaning the machine and allowing lint to accumulate over long periods of time, according to the CPSC, cause the clothes dryer to overheat, increasing the chances of starting a fire.

Clean the clothes dryer regularly and make sure to remove all traces of lint stuck in the lint filter. Also, improper venting can cause damage to the machine. A clogged clothes dryer shows the following symptoms: long drying times, noisy operation, clothes that are still damp and hot even after drying, and non-functioning automatic sensors.

Most problems with clothes dryers are related to the heat source or the motor that tumbles the clothes. One way or the other, it isn’t a very good idea to just open up the machine and start poking the parts every which way-you need a professional repair man to do this. These guys will troubleshoot and repair the problem for a small price, free if covered by the warranty. It is always better to be safe than sorry.

Horse Riding Clothing For Kids – Costly Mistakes Beginners Make

Whether you’re a new rider or the parent of a new rider, you’ve no doubt already discovered one of the most enduring truths about riding horses: horse riding clothing is expensive. And confusing. There’s so much of it, in so many different styles, for so many different types of riding, it’s hard to know what to buy. And once you finally do pick out a few items, the prices are so shockingly huge you begin to think it might be better to forget about the ponies altogether and get into scrapbooking instead.

But don’t give up yet! By avoiding the most common mistakes that beginners make, you can save yourself lots of time, money, and frustration.

Horse Riding Clothing Mistake #1: Buying Everything

When first starting out, many new riders think they need to own every piece of horse riding gear under the sun. They load down their shopping carts and wipe out their budgets only to eventually discover they didn’t need half of it, or they bought the wrong kind. Or, worse yet, their interest in riding was only a phase and all that expensive equipment is now sitting on a shelf collecting dust.

To make sure you avoid this mistake, just keep in mind one simple phrase: You don’t need all that stuff. All you really need when starting out are three simple things:

a horse riding helmet a comfortable pair of pants some horse riding boots.

And that’s it. With just those three items, you can take your first riding lessons, learn the basics, and figure out whether or not riding horses is something you really want to do before you throw piles of money at it. This, of course, brings us to…

Horse Riding Clothing Mistake #2: Buying the Wrong Helmet

There are many different kinds of horse riding helmets, all designed for very specific disciplines or skill levels. Unfortunately, many of them look the same and it would be very easy for a beginner to spend way too much money on the wrong one. To avoid this common mistake, all you really need to know about are two different types: show helmets and schooling helmets.

Show helmets are exactly what they sound like: helmets you wear to a show. They’re very formal and very expensive, often reaching several hundred dollars apiece.  Now here’s the good news: Until you reach a level where you’re ready to compete in front of judges, you don’t need a show helmet.

Schooling helmets are also exactly what they sound like: helmets you wear while schooling, or lesson riding. Schooling helmets are way less formal and way less expensive; a decent one can be gotten for around $30-$40. They’re also much more durable and easier to clean, meaning the wear-and-tear of weekly lessons won’t be such a strain on your time or pocketbook.

Horse Riding Clothing Mistake #3: Buying the Wrong Breeches

Breeches are those stretchy pants you see professional equestrians wear. They’re made of a special material that allows for freedom of movement and wicks moisture (aka sweat) away from the skin. They also have very soft seams specially stitched to keep from chafing the rider’s legs at the points where they make contact with the sides of the horse’s body. These are all good things.

When you shop for breeches, you’ll find many different kinds with many different names: knee patch breeches, full-seat breeches, low-rise breeches, etc. The kind you ultimately need will depend on which style of riding you get into, but, in the beginning, you can easily get away with a nice, cheap pair of schooling tights.

Note: Some people will tell you that you can just wear a tight pair of jeans, but that really isn’t a very good idea. First of all, most trainers will only let you get away with that for a couple of lessons (until you decide if you want to keep riding or not), and, secondly, the seams on a pair of jeans will quickly begin to chafe — and eventually scar — your legs. Do yourself a favor, and find a nice pair of riding tights.

Horse Riding Clothing Mistake #4: Buying the Wrong Boots

As with all the other pieces of horse riding clothing, there are many different kinds of boots, all made for specific types of riding. Many beginners immediately go for the tall, glossy boots that they see so many other riders wearing, but this is a huge mistake. Not only are those tall boots extremely expensive, they’re also very tough to break in. If your new rider is still growing, by the time the boots are fully broken in, they will likely have outgrown them; meaning all that money you just spent has gone straight down the drain. And finally, as with show helmets, the wear-and-tear of lesson riding will quickly cause the value of your investment to dwindle.

When starting out, the only horse riding boots a beginner needs are paddock boots. Paddock boots are short, ankle-length boots that look a bit like “granny boots.”  They have the same safety features as tall boots, but are far less expensive, far less difficult and time-consuming to break in, and not so heartbreaking to get dirty. Also, for kids under 12, paddock boots are perfectly fine to wear for shows, meaning you can definitely get your money’s worth from them for quite some time.

And That’s It!

Sure, it’s easy to spend a lot of money on horse riding clothing. And it’s really easy to buy the wrong kind. But by avoiding these common mistakes that beginning riders make, you can minimize your cost and maximize your time enjoying the reason you got into riding in the first place: spending time with the horse!

Celebrity Maternity Clothing Today

For past generations, becoming pregnant meant that women were condemned to 9 months of baggy, shapeless clothing choices. Maternity clothing which wasn’t comfortable or appealing. Today it is different though; wider ranges of maternity clothing are available. Celebrities and well known personalities, wearing the most fashionable maternity wear have helped to broaden our options in modern maternity wear. This of course, helps to increase the success and range in maternity wear stores throughout the world.

In turn, the larger demand for greater choices in modern maternity wear dictates that the stores will have better selections available. Higher disposable income amongst pregnant women also helps. There are many more attractive and comfortable options available today.

Variety in Women’s Clothing

Especially over the last 5 years or so, the public has seen many more pregnant celebrities. This has generated more interest in how they present themselves and what they are wearing. Pregnancy has become a fashionable time in many celebrities’ lives, translating to more interest and demand for this clothing in the general public.

This demand has flowed on to department, specialty and discount stores as women demand more flattering and better fitting maternity wear. Retailers take their cues on how women spend their money; this explains the greater maternity clothing ranges on display and the ever growing new lines in maternity wear.

Lifestyle changes such as women choosing to have their pregnancies later in life, perhaps after they have built a career have also become reason for changes in the maternity clothing available today. The same applies to many celebrities, who leave child rearing until later in life so they can establish a stable and financially secure life.

However, there are differences between what an average family and celebrities can afford, even in maternity clothing. Compared to say, five years ago the choices in maternity clothing, often driven by what pregnant celebrities wear are definitely broader.

It is now much simpler to find appealing, flattering maternity clothing online. You can find versions of celebrity maternity fashions alongside more basic lines; this has helped online sales grow immensely. Also, you will find that by shopping online you have access to much wider clothing options than you would by walking into any clothing store.

Informed by both the maternity clothing of celebrities and clothing the average woman wants, retailers have definitely come to the party, increasing the clothing options available today. This of course, raises the retailer’s profitability.

Chic Clothing and Accessories at Pebbles – Pune Children’s Clothing Store

Posted by on December 17, 2009 at 4:42 pm in Kids And Teens

This kids’ store in Pune was started by Ketan Shah on October 21st, 2007. Earlier they had Imperial men’s wear showroom here but due to the invasion of malls they decided to start a kid’s store.

What you see – The adorable board of Pebbles with tagline – Budding fashions – and the cute display of stylish clothes beckon mothers and kids inside. As you enter you see a striking poster of kids right behind the counter.

What you get – The store caters to clothing needs of kids from 0-14 years of age. They have casuals, formals and party wear in western and traditional variety. The ground level stocks girls’ clothing while the first level is for the boys. Zapp, Weekender, Peppermint, Chase, Vitamins, Tiny Baby Doll and Infancy are some of the brands available here. The clothes are neatly segregated as per types – jeans, skirts, dresses, party wear, salwar kameez and ghaghra choli. The posters of the clothes displayed make decision making easier.

They have an excellent collection of trendy wear. We loved a denim halter (Rs. 475) with a belt and silver strings which could be teamed with a white skirt or a pair of jeans. In party wear they have a glamorous peach sequined dress for Rs. 765 from Leh Berry. In Indian wear most of the dresses are of the designer variety. These are available in a variety of materials like crushed cotton, crepe and tussar. We found a designer piece in black crushed cotton teamed with leggings and a crushed stole stitched in Anarkali style really hip. For weddings they have silk churidar kurta and ghaghra cholis with unique color combinations and intricate embroidery.

In traditional wear the boys have great choices too. A raw silk kurta with a blend of tussar silk and dhoti along with a stole are available in pink, blue and more. Cotton churidar kurtas in variety of colors like white, beige, orange, blue, black and cream are priced at Rs. 520 and are perfect for the hot summers. In casuals we realized that color pink is the new blue for boys as it was dominant here.

This Children’s Clothing store also has a wide variety of jeans, cargos and trousers to be teamed with smart T-shirts. They have casual sets and party wear sets too. In casuals we liked a yellow T-shirt teamed with green cargos from Chase and in party wear their designer embroidered shirts in colors like pink and white in corduroy are good picks. The jeans for boys and girls are available for Rs. 700 and more. In formals, we spotted a chic imported two-piece suit in white with sequins on the jacket and satin shirt teamed with trousers. We also found suits of Superman and Batman here.

Accessories like caps and a limited collection of shoes are available too. For the rainy season they have raincoats and umbrellas with famous cartoon characters on them. They have a special collection of Winnie the Pooh slip-ons which are really cute.

For babies they have a special section with products from companies like Carter, Johnson & Johnson and Pigeon. It includes baby’s feeding accessories, cosmetics, accessories (socks, towels, mittens etc), bath products (soaps, shampoo, tub etc), utilities (teethers, combs, puffs etc) and clothing and inner wear. They also have blankets, quilts, pillows and shawls apart from soft toys, rattles, play gym etc.

Our verdict – The collection is amazingly fashionable and definitely not run-of-the-mill. The staff is very courteous and extremely well informed. Every customer seems to be given a glass of water on entering. Also the space is used well here. Pay and park facility is available on MG Road.

Buying Clothes Online

Buying clothes online, contrary to what some may think, is fairly easy. You might even be able to find better deals and better items online than in traditional stores. And for those who are looking for cheap and stylish clothes, then online is the place to be.

You could probably start off by going to your favorite designer’s website. You could also visit the website of department stores. They usually have great selections and even a lot of discounted items that are available on their websites. Most of the time you would be able to find all kinds of basic pieces of clothing along with some unique items that could enhance and complement the clothes, which you already have.

You could also try shopping for clothes on eBay. It is fairly easy and convenient to search for and shop on eBay. You could simply type in “black dress” and you would be able browse through the results of all kinds of black dresses. You would be able to find a very wide array of clothing and other accessories on there from the brand new items to the slightly used ones for cheaper prices. The people who usually sell new clothes online are those who bought the items in the wrong sizes and are unable to return them anymore. There are also those who are just in the business of selling affordable yet fashionable clothes.

A lot of online catalogs also give you the convenient ability of buying cheap clothes online. Though such catalogs are not from very famous designers and names, you will surely be able to find great items that are not only for you, but for your loved ones as well.

Selling and Marketing Wholesale Clothing – Tips For Starting Your Wholesale Online Clothing Shop

Customers are looking for cheap clothing, and will search anywhere to find it. It may appear that local department stores, offering an astounding 30-50% off would be the perfect place to find great deals. However, that discount is on an already jacked up retail price. You can offer lower prices and draw in these customers to your online business by being able to find a wholesale source who can offer you a competitive advantage on your merchandise.

There are several steps you want to take to make sure that you are offering the best deals possible. First, put yourself in the buyers’ shoes. Look at the competition and see what they are offering and at what price. Do a search for wholesale sites for the type of clothing that you are offering. Check out the styles and prices. Also be sure to see whether the buyer needs to buy a large quantity in order to receive the discounts. For most wholesalers, the real savings come from being able to sell in bulk.

How does this translate into sales for you? Depending on the wholesale supplier that you are working with, and the price that you pay for your clothing, you may be able to offer your clothes with a smaller mark-up. While this will impact your profit margin, you may profit more from the economy of scale. In other words, you could sell more product than your competition and make a respectable profit.

One thing to keep in mind is that no matter what, you will not be able to offer the lowest of low prices. At any given time, there will be some factor that will allow someone to offer the same clothing at a lower price. Your potential customer may decide it’s worth it to buy bulk at the lower price, or there may be a lower price on an auction site. However, you can increase the chance of having your clothing sell by making it easy for people to find your site.

Once you have established your prices and set up your website, you need to advertise and use the proper keywords so that customers can find your shop. Keywords should be descriptive, such as “wholesale women’s jeans,” or “discount children’s clothing.”

The combination of getting your wholesale clothing at deep discounts and marketing it online effectively can give you the added competitive edge, leading to more sales and bigger profits.

Earth Friendly Women’s Leather Clothing

There is no question that animal electrocution, juvenile seal clubbing, and other forms of animal slaughter for the sake of fur garments represent some of the most depraved acts ever envisioned by the human mind. At the same time, many animal rights activists also feel that commercial farming for the sake of meat also includes a number of inhumane and hostile activities against animals. Therefore, you might be surprised to learn that there is Earth friendly women’s leather clothing available. Irregardless of whether you are looking for a jacket with large cargo pockets, or a leather skirt, you should be able to find a garment that has a limited impact on a wide range of natural resources.

In particular, it is crucial to realize that most leathers come from animals that were raised primarily for meat. As people become more aware of the fact that meat based protein starvation can cause everything from edema to depression, more will look for organically raised meat products. Therefore, you will find that there will be an increasing number of opportunities to purchase leather clothing that is environmentally acceptable.

If you cannot find leather jacket, pant, or accessory suppliers that work with environmentally responsible farmers, you may want to consider some other options. Among other things, you may want to look into obtaining deerskin. In particular, once the summer is past, many private hunters are given permits to take a certain number of deer. Therefore, if you are a hunter, or know of someone that is, you may be able to pick up a suitable animal hide for tanning purposes.

Chances are, if you visit your local department stores, you will find all kinds of imitation leather products. While these garments and accessories were not made from animal skins, they were most likely made from plastic, vinyl, and other petroleum based products. Without a question, these products may be a hazard to human health on top of wreaking all kinds of environmental mayhem.

Irregardless of how environmentally friendly a product may be, it still requires some destruction of natural elements, as well as be shipped from one location to another. Therefore, when looking for green products, it is important to consider durability. Without a question, leather will outlast almost every plant based or synthetic fabric on the market. As a result, even if you order Tianello leather fashions from a catalog, you may be well be doing something that is less damaging to the environment.

There is no question that everyone can do more to reduce personal impact on this planet. That said, each person still needs to be able to live and enjoy good health. While many animal rights advocates claim that women’s leather clothing causes harm to the environment, they may need to rethink some of their statistics. Among other things, when you evaluate the potential to help promote free range farming, as well as reduce other environmental stresses, leather clothes may be the best choice you can make.

Crotch Measurement and Clothing

Posted by on December 14, 2009 at 8:51 am in Home And Family

What is the crotch area? The crotch area is an area as said which encompasses the genitals but in terms of clothing, the crotch is the area above the thighs . Here again you are getting into the human body and describing the human body. You are trying to understand the necessary measurements for the human body. Why is the body such-and-such etc? The crotch area and genital area is interesting too as an area in the sense that there is the waist-line which is an important line and then one can mark out the hip line as where the body curves outwards from the waist especially for women. And then you ask that the hip lines and waist lines are not lines related to the crotch area. One cannot say really that the hip line cuts across and somehow controls the crotch area. The hip line may happen to intersect the crotch area in some way and it is the job of a technical person to note how this is done. Of course in the early days of tailoring, you can imagine how this was important. Maybe a question like this was important in creating the patterns necessary before the subsequent cutting of the fabric.

It is of course true that a trousers is chosen because of the waist circumference measurement and the inseam. How does the inseam relate to the waist circumference? Is this a valid question? The waist points are points that are located on a nice line below the arm. This line is of course not necessarily straight but it is a straight line in the sense that the body curves outwards after the waist points. This is how one characterises the body. Certainly the hip circumference could be said to be larger than the waist circumference. However this is not strictly noticeable with men or with certain women but this is getting into the area of types of bodies, types of human bodies. Can one generalise on types of human bodies? Then again this is an important question for bespoke garment creation.

See how you want to create a garment that holds this crotch or genital area. The body is not stagnant. It moves and it poses and the garment creation obviously takes this into account. Still there is only so far one can push your legs apart and still it doesn’t really pull at the garment because the crotch area remain still. The question here is whether one needs added stretch and more strength in the crotch area. This is one reason why one needs stretch and strength in this area. Still does one really need stretch? One needs stretch if one uses the garment perhaps for certain functions but obviously it is not necessarily for a tailored trousers. One is using terms like ’stretch’ and ’strength’ but one hasn’t really defined them not how the garment would actually be strengthened. Also what exactly would be ’stretched’? If one used a stretch fabric for the whole garment, would this not solve a problem? Perhaps the answer then to creating a garment for a person who is using the trousers/pants for an exerting/demanding/sports activity is a change in the pattern. One needs to look carefully at the pattern itself perhaps.

The crotch depth is a measurement that is taken when the person is seated. See the seating pose of the person. The person has to be seated as you can see the nature of the body, the waist line and then the thigh line. There is a line that could be called the low hip line and here I am calling it the thigh line which cuts across the crotch. Still the line has no relation to the crotch because the crotch is an area of the torso in a way that anything below that isn’t. The crotch is like the bottom section of the torso and imagine specific swimsuits where the torso is key and not the leg area. It is the cross-over from the torso to below the torso which happens at the crotch which is important for bespoke garment creation.

If you locate the line, which is the crotch depth, you are finding the distance between the waist line and the seat of the body and this seat is of course the buttocks area. There is no reference re: crotch depth particularly to the way the thigh folds into the crotch area in the front. The crotch depth above all measures from the waist to the seat and it in some way establishes an important measurement for the seat of the trousers. The seat is the buttocks area and the fact is that the line marking the bottom line of the seat or buttocks is also parallel with the crotch line in the front. You of course know that the crotch leads into the buttocks area and in this way the crotch depth which measures the seat of the human body is an interesting measurement. It is interesting because it tells you something about the human body. It shows how it is not always when the body is standing that one can get suitable measurements. The body needs to be seated and when it is seated, you can see the body in an important position ; And this position, which is the seated position, is important

5 Types of Maternity Clothes For Your Pregnancy

Posted by on December 13, 2009 at 8:59 pm in Home And Family

You are pregnant and you suddenly discover nothing fits quite right in your closet. Don’t panic or feel like you have to empty the piggy bank before you set foot outside your door again. Really there are just a few basics you need to cover to stylishly clothe your new body.

1. Nursing Bra

Before you break the bank buying up sizes in your bra size, go ahead and invest in a few nursing bras that you can also wear after the baby is born. The advantage of a good nursing bra is that even if you don’t plan to nurse, or nurse for very long, it can still be of use after the baby as your breasts go back to their regular size. Nursing bras are made with more stretch than your average bra and can often accommodate a range of cup sizes. Bravado’s Original Nursing Bra fits a range of up to 4 different band and 2 cup sizes for each of their bra sizes. Also, well made nursing bras are gentler on the breast tissue which is a great comfort factor to pregnant or nursing breasts as well as a health factor in reducing the risk of mastitis from a too-tight or badly fitting bra. Even the underwire nursing bras are often made with more padding and gentle wires than your standard wired bra. Melinda G makes a particularly gentle and supportive T-shirt underwire bra.

2. Maternity Jeans

If you are were a jean girl before you were pregnant, chances are you will still want to slip on a comfy pair of jeans after you are pregnant too. Fortunately there are many stretchy, stylish maternity jeans out there that will fit great for your entire pregnancy and feel like a dream on you. 1 in the oven has a very comfortable Invisibelly Maternity Jean with a nude over the belly band and a superb fitting stretchy denim jean material. There are also a number of transition jeans that look like a regular jean but can be adjusted in the waistband to let out under the belly as needed. Noppies 4 pocket Under the Belly Jean is a great example of a before and after jean that can work fabulously for a whole year of up and down tummy sizes without looking like a maternity jean.

3. Lounge pants

Everyone needs a pair of comfortable lounge pants that can be worn inside and outside of the house when expecting and after the baby. Majamas makes a wonderful yoga pant, called the Softest Yoga pant, that can be worn during pregnancy and after the baby. This pant comes in both a black and charcoal color which goes with everything and can even be worn as pajama bottoms. 1 in the Oven also makes a Super Soft Ruched Fold Over Pant which fits like a lounge or yoga pant and can be worn all during pregnancy and beyond. This pant comes in black and can be dressed up or down.

4. Maternity nursing top

Japanese Weekend has hands down has the best selection of maternity and nursing tops on the market today at prices that are affordable along with excellent quality. The advantage of buying top that can worn for both maternity and nursing is that it does give you quite a bit of mileage and can be worn after the baby with a postpartum belly whether or not you intend to nurse. The Japanese Weekend cross over top has an excellent body with a ¾ sleeve that can be worn year round and a stylish cross over style that allows discreet nursing and full belly coverage. This maternity and nursing top comes in both jersey and hugaboo bamboo material and many color options.

5. Maternity Swimwear

Although a maternity swimsuit sounds like a luxury when you are pregnant, this is an item you definitely need to buy if you are pregnant during the warmer months or plan to vacation somewhere warm. Once you are more than a month or two pregnant the first thing not to fit right is your swimsuit. Many women find that they want to enroll in a water aerobics class or take a swimming class with a young tot and need a real swimsuit that fits right. Maternity swimsuits are made with more spandex and belly room as well as more room in the chest to fit more a range in size without being restrictive. Also, these suits are made to flatter your expecting shape with a wide variety of styles to accent or camouflage what you choose.

So, don’t panic if your wardrobe is suddenly no longer the size you need and don’t waste your money buying up a size or to in “regular clothing”, but go ahead and invest in some good basic maternity pieces that will stylishly clothe you for all nine months and then some!
